TVsDepot complaint by Marvin
Best quoted online price for a 46" Sony KDL-46BR attracted me. I placed my order via the internet late Sunday evening assuming the total I had agreed to was correct. Monday morning I receive a call from a so called manager soliciting me for a service contract costing $300.00 which I declined. I was then informed and additional $89.00 would be added for insurance which was not disclosed when the order was placed. I reluctantly agreed and was emailed another credit verification form reflect the increased price. Then it occurred to me, if they would play games at this level what was I in for when the product arrived? Gray market, refurbished, worse? Doing a Google search I arrived here confirming my worst fears. Within minute of my last contact with them I called back to cancel. I was told I could not as the product had already been shipped which was sheer BS. Then I was told my account would turned over for collection. I contacted the credit card company apprising them of my experience only to be told I could not cancel payment to them however they would note the call in my file advising me to refuse delivery...DUH! Next as a preemptive measure I emailed TVsDirect stating my intent to cancel, faxed a two page cancellation letter and finally a certified letter with return reply requested. I just received an email stating the merchandise has been shipped. I was unable to verify this with any of the carriers they listed so I suspect it was sent to rattle my cage. At this moment I don’t know where this is going but suffice to say I learned to take the time to investigate before ordering. I also learned the old adage of beware the lowest bidder is true. These are bad people.

Before you order, check out. This is one of the infamous Foto Connection group.
