Feb 25, 2008 TVsDepot complaint by Dac |
Purchase a camera on line. Then received an email that before transaction could be final I was to call them ASAP. I do, and the salesman informs me I need a battery for this camera. I question him about this and inform him I purchased this same camera from a different company and I didn't need to buy a battery, so I said ok , then he said you need a memory card and I agareed again, then he said how about a warrenty . I said "if I drop this in the water within the 2year warrenty will it be replaced. he said yes. I said ok again, he informs me he is addind a duluxe tripod camera bag and lens cleaner. Next they email you again that you must agree to while they wait on the phone. I do and a few days later the camera shows up. And not that I am at home and can actually take the time to see what I purchased I realized what started out as a $ 247.00 camera was now $ 443.97 Now I try to call customer service and you are re routed and put on hold so many times ( I believe they think 90% of customers calling will hang up) it's unbelievable but I hang in and after about 2 1/2 hours I get someone who is about as useful as a blank wall. They can tell me nothing they don't know who the manager is that is in right now because they are between shifts, so on & so on. Finally I get some one who tells me I will be charged a restocking fee of 15% so I say okay I ony want to return the camera and battery, you can't do that you have to return everything and you can't return the warranty. So I do and 8 weeks go by and I notice my account has not been refunded so I go through it all again trying to talk to someone and they now tell me everything was not returned I tell them that is impossible, I said was the box I returned open when you recieved it, they said no. I repeated that that is impossible . Now it is my word against theirs and I am once again waiting to hear from them. And our legal system allows this.
